Fatal Head-On Collision on Highway 165 Claims One Life

LOS BANOS, Calif. (FOX26) — A head-on collision on Highway 165 resulted in the death of one of the drivers and injured 4 other people on Saturday.

Emergency response teams responded to a head-on collision on Highway 165 just south of Cotton Gin Road just before 3:30 p.m.

According to the investigation, a blue 2021 Toyota Camry was traveling northbound but, for unknown reasons, veered into the southbound lane and collided with a black 2018 Toyota Sienna.

The resulting impact caused the Camry to crash into a guardrail.

Despite life-saving measures, the driver of the Camry was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sienna driver sustained major non-life-threatening injuries.

Three other passengers in the Sienna received minor to moderate injuries.

Authorities have reported that alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.
